Splashdot API delivers single use coupons through Twitter for OLG

 

TORONTO, ON, February 3, 2021 – Splashdot, a leading innovator in the digital loyalty and customer engagement sector, today announced the launch of a Custom Twitter Application that will enable the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) to securely issue single-use free play coupons to customers via promoted posts on Twitter. The first of its kind, this proprietary Twitter application will allow OLG to connect and engage with new audience segments – a critical mission for crown lottery corporations in today’s cluttered digital gaming environment.

Splashdot’s API initiative was introduced as a way to help OLG promote trial of their new LIGHTNING LOTTO game on Twitter by distributing $2 free play coupons via promoted (i.e. paid) posts through their @OntarioLottery account. The promoted tweet appears in targeted user feeds, encouraging users to retweet or quote-tweet the post to receive a digital coupon. Splashdot’s Twitter app validates the user’s eligibility, and if the user passes the eligibility criteria, the app sends a notification to the user’s Twitter account that includes a link to claim the coupon.

Once the user clicks on the link, they’re taken to a landing page that instructs them to enter their name, email, date of birth and acceptance of terms to receive the coupon. Upon successfully completing the form, the user is sent to a unique URL with their single-use coupon code. The user also receives an email with the coupon URL and instructions on how to redeem their coupon at an OLG Lottery Retailer.
